September 18

Hello! Today was the first time in a long time, when I was actually able to sleep out. This means, I slept until like 9:30; even though, I went to bed just before midnight. So that was a good start in my day.

In the morning, I then listened the first applied optimizations lecture. Since it’s technically a masters lecture, I expected it to be kinda hard, but in all reality, it wasn’t. The theory we had today, wasn’t nearly as bad as it was in any of the math lectures. So that was a kinda bitter-sweet realization.
I kinda hoped, it’d be “hard”, so I’d learn more. But yeah, it was only the first lecture.

Then, in the afternoon, I solved a sudoku (since I just had to pass some time. Today was the day, we went to get our car).
Shortly after 3 I left our house, and took the train to somewhere near us, where my sister was. We then drove to her husbands school, picked him up, went back home, changed cars to one that can pull trailers and picked up my brother.

We then headed straight to the guy renting us the trailer. Now, technically, we were supposed to arrive there at latest at 17:30. But since we were late (as usual) we arrived with 15 minutes of delay.
I actually called the rental-guy in advance, and he told me, that if it took us too long, he’d just leave. So we weren’t even sure, if we’d have a trailer.
But in the end, all turned out well.

Now, with the trailer all set, we headed to the nice lady selling us the car. (The drive took like 45 more minutes.)

Once there, we had the first challenge. How to get the car on the trailer; and how do we move the trailer, such that it’s facing the right direction. (Since she lives on a mountain, we couldn’t just turn there. We then pushed and pulled for about 1 hour, and then all was set again. Car on the trailer, and the trailer back set on the car again.
I also handled the contract & paid (she then also gifted me a book for beginner builders on cars?), so we were all set. Then, in the end, she gave my brother and my an envelope and said, that we were only allowed to open it on the high-way, or back at home!

We then took some final pictures (also with her), and then started to drive back. In about the middle of the way, we took a quick dinner-break in a burger king. (The burger was really good, but the sauce to the fries was shit – not even gonna lie haha.)
There on the parking, we opened her letter. It was crazy. She just gave us back, pretty much all of our money. In the end, we only had to pay the fee from the online auction site, and the paperwork she had to do, since she lost the cars registration. So she gave us back: 2755.- WTF. Wayyyy too generous. She said, this is the first investment for replacements into our new car lol.

Then we hit the road again. About 50 minutes later, we arrived back at home. We had some difficulties, driving backwards into our driveway, but once all of us passengers shut up, and we let Sara do it on her own, it all went kinda smoothly haha.

We rolled the Porsche down the trailer, and then we already had to return the trailer. So this was like 35 more minutes driving – each way.

But this all went over smoothly. In the end, we were at home, at about a quarter to 1. Kinda late.

I took a shower, and now I’m writing (to) you. That’s all for today. I’ll see you again tomorrow. Take care & Bye-Bye!

No cap: Sara’s husband is a kinda toxic driver – in the passenger seat. It was kinda annoying.
